Anthony Bracewell is considered by many to be one of the most dynamic and diverse violinists active today. Possessing a unique blend of classical and jazz training, Bracewell enjoys a colorful career as a virtuoso violin and viola soloist, chamber musician, fiddler of all genres, recording artist, composer, producer, and teacher.

Born in the Canadian city of Windsor Ontario, Anthony began his musical studies at the age of five. His teachers, realizing his musical talents, encouraged him to learn other instruments, master music theory and ear training, and explore the world of music outside the classical realm. By the age of ten he was regularly performing concerts, improvising, and gigging, and at age eleven he gave his soloist debut with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra. 

As a teenager, Bracewell served as the Concertmaster of the Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra, working with renowned artists such as Sir Andrew Davis, Midori, Itzhak Perlman, Leonard Slatkin, and Yo-Yo Ma. He was a grand prize winner in the 2008 St. Paul National String Quartet Competition as well as a recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist award from the NPR National radio show, "From the Top". 

Bracewell went on to study violin and viola with world renowned pedagogues Paul Kantor, Jaime Laredo, James Dunham, and Paul Neubauer. He holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, as well as Master of Music Degrees from the Juilliard School and Rice University. Throughout his studies, Bracewell continued to expand his interests and skillset, studying advanced musical analysis and ear training, as well as Dalcroze Eurythmics, music production, and sound engineering. In 2010 Bracewell formed the Contranuities Quartet an ensemble committed to pushing the boundaries of classical music and acoustic instruments into folk and jazz genres. Anthony enjoys orchestral music making, and can often be found performing various roles in many different ensembles. In 2011 he served as Assistant Concertmaster of the New York String Orchestra Seminar in Carnegie Hall, and in the past year has been invited to perform as Concertmaster of the Geneva Light Opera Company, principle violist and principle second violinist of the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, principle violist of the Salomé Chamber Orchestra, principle second violin of the South Florida Symphony Orchestra, as well as a frequent guest of the Shattered Glass ensemble. in 2018 he became a member of the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra. 

Bracewell has performed recitals worldwide, in places such as Paris, Belgrade, Prague, Montreal and NYC. In 2018 he recorded his debut album, which he released on his own label and is available worldwide. 

A large part of Anthony's focus is in education, and sharing the knowledge and experiences he has been given with the next generation of musicians. He began teaching at the age of fourteen and continues to teach students of all levels to this day. 

Anthony Bracewell resides in New York City with his wife and two dogs, Lily and Romeo. He can be found on stage performing solo recitals, collaborating with many wonderful NYC musicians, teaching various types of music lessons, working in the studio recording music for film composers, rappers, electronic artists, indie bands, and more, playing solo violin at an outrageous chuppah celebration, writing his own electronic music compositions, or chasing down his dogs at the park.  He is always looking to connect with artists, students, audiences and friends alike.
